27 Jan Indigo Class’ Trip to the Science Museum
Indigo class (y5) went on an educational visit to the Science Museum. At the museum, we went on a 4k Red Arrows flight simulator. We experienced the G-force encountered when they fly at that speed and do those tricks. After the flight simulator, we explored the flight gallery, where we saw and learned how plane engines have become stronger and more reliable over the years.
After that, we explored the space and making the modern world galleries in groups. Two of the groups got a private tour of the making the modern world gallery. In the space gallery, we tried to build something with massive gloves on (it was VERY hard).
Shortly after lunch, we headed off to the ‘Feel the Force’ workshop. Three students went on stage and represented our school. The first student tested the force of gravity and how a stronger person could throw something farther. The second student tested the force of air resistance, and the third student explained magnesium.
After a long day we went back to school, we had great fun and learnt a lot on our school trip.
